FAIRY WITH BUTTERFLIES
This pixie - the first male fairy I did - was created in memory of a little boy who was born asleep.
His mum wanted to create a place of peace in her garden in memory of him on his 10th birthday.
She wanted a piece that was reflective and gentle. When we chatted, I found out that they had used words from "The Stolen Child" by WB Yeats in his memorial.
I did that poem at school and I knew the line I wanted to reference -
"There we've hid our faery vats,
Full of berrys And of reddest stolen cherries."
I created this little pixie deep in thought and holding his vat of red berries.
If standing, this pixie would have measured about 550mm from head to toe.
