FAIRY WITH GIRAFFE

This fairy was commissioned in memory of a very special little girl. 

Throughout her life, this little girl had a very special friend - her cuddly giraffe that went everywhere with her.

Her family were creating a memorial for her to mark her 16th birthday and wanted the number 16 represented somehow and also to have the giraffe looking into the fairies eyes.

I came up with this design, which stands at about 750mm tall.  The giraffe is gently bowing down to the fairy as she puts on a necklace of 16 beads in all the colours of the rainbow.

There is also a butterfly sitting on the back of the giraffe, which represents the little girl's mum, with whom she had an extraordinary bond.

I hope I managed to convey a feeling of love between this fairy and her beloved giraffe.
